USCIS Accepting DACA Renewals Again

Posted by Nita Kundanmal | Jan 13, 2018 | 0 Comments

Another victory for immigrants!

USCIS has resumed accepting requests to renew Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications.  Renewals will be handled according to the terms of the DACA policy in place before it was rescinded on September 5, 2017.

USCIS' announcement comes 4 days after a San Francisco federal judge ordered the administration to restart the DACA program until a lawsuit challenging the administration's decision to end the program is decided in court. U.S District Judge William Alsup of the Northern District of California ruled that the DACA program must continue and those already approved for DACA protection and work permits must be allowed to renew them before they expire.
